Lucas Tree Experts, a dual-accredited, 41-year TCIA member company and third-generation integrated-vegetation-
management company based in Portland, Maine, acquired Vermont-based New England Tree Experts in June 2021.
The acquisition furthers the almost 100-year-old company’s expansion into the Green Mountain State. New England Tree Experts, which also primarily focused its efforts on utility vegetation management, has assumed the Lucas Tree Experts brand.

New England Tree Experts, a 21-year TCIA member company based in Hardwick, Vt., has been owned and operated by the Molleur family since 2003 and has provided utility vegetation-management services for decades to Vermont utilities. Former owners John and Ryan Molleur will join the Lucas management team and will oversee the Vermont operation, supported by the staff and resources of the Maine-based corporate office. Lucas Tree Experts plans to retain more than 50 of New England Tree Experts’ employees.
