Bandit Industries’ Intimidator 20XP tracked, whole-tree chipper is now available with the Cummins B6.7 Performance Series engine, rated at 326 horsepower (243 kW). Dual certified to meet EU Stage V and EPA Tier 4 Final emissions regulations, the Performance Series is Cummins’ latest engine range for off-road applications. Designed as a whole-tree chipper in a smaller package, Bandit wanted to downsize the Intimidator 20XP from a 9-liter engine with no loss in performance or machine capability, and the Cummins B6.7 is engineered to do that. The B6.7 engine has 30% more torque than its predecessor and 5% more power. The exhaust-gas-recirculation (EGR) free design meets stringent emission standards through Cummins Single Module aftertreatment. Comprising a diesel-oxidation catalyst (DOC) and diesel-particulate filter (DPF), the system is up to 40% smaller and 20% lighter than Cummins’ previous system. The B6.7 is packaged into a Cummins power unit, which comprises a Performance Series engine, aftertreatment, cooling pack, air cleaner, engine skid and exhaust configuration. For Bandit, Cummins designed and tailored the power units especially for forestry applications and included an option for dual, rear-engine power take-off (REPTO).
