Wright Service Corp. Chair and CEO Retires

After more than 25 years with the company, Scott D. Packard, Wright Service Corp.’s chair and CEO, retired on September 30, 2023.

Packard joined Wright Service Corp. in July 1998 and was appointed president and COO three years later. In October 2002, Packard took on the position of chair and CEO of Wright Service Corp.

During his time with the company, Wright Service Corp. has grown nearly six times its size, to 6,000 employees and eight brands under the company’s portfolio. The company has done work in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, seven Canadian provinces and territories and six countries.

Wright has been an employee-owned company since 2002, creating a unique culture supporting the company’s success while assisting employees with their retirement. Packard has accomplished much and always held himself to the highest standards while staying true to the company’s values. In doing so, the company has seen 20 consecutive years of growth in revenue, ensuring Wright’s employee owners are set up for long-term financial success to support themselves and their families.

“Some might call this 25-year history a good record; I call it a great start,” Packard stated.

Packard will continue to serve as chair of the Wright Service Corp. board of directors through 2026.

Austin Kennedy will assume the role of president and CEO of Wright Service Corp. Kennedy joined the company as general counsel in April 2013 and has served as the company’s president and COO for the last two years.

“Scott is that rare blend of excellent visionary and nurturing boss. We have all benefited immeasurably from his day-to-day leadership and will look forward to his continued strategic leadership as our chairman,” says Kennedy.
