SavATree announced a merger with Downey Trees Inc. of Atlanta, Georgia, in June and with Spruced Up Tree & Shrub of Salem, Massachusetts, in July.
Downey Trees, a 29-year TCIA member company with offices in Norcross and Savannah, Georgia, and Destin, Florida, was founded in 1984. This marks SavATree’s first entry into the Florida market and expands its Georgia presence into Savannah. Downey Trees’ and SavATree’s current Norcross branches will combine.
“With the addition of these three locations, we are able to develop and expand our market presence further into the Southeast region, which has been a priority for some time,” noted Daniel van Starrenburg, SavATree executive chairman. “We’re excited to accomplish this by joining forces with Downey Trees.”
Spruced Up Tree & Shrub has been servicing clients throughout the North Shore of Massachusetts since 2014. Spruced Up Tree & Shrub will now be incorporated into SavATree’s Middleton, Mass., branch.

Charlotte Enfield, owner of Spruced Up Tree & Shrub, is a former employee of SavATree and remained close to the company for many years. Enfield notes “It is extremely important to me that I leave my clients in good hands. My experience with SavATree has been nothing short of great, which is why I’m positive that this merger will be a perfect fit.”
SavATree now has 44 branch offices serving customers in 23 states.
