TCIA’s Bob Rouse is the recipient of the 2026 International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Honorary Membership Award. The award was announced during the ISA Annual International Conference, held Aug. 10-12, 2026, in Detroit, Michigan.

The Honorary Membership Award is an Award of Distinction presented to individuals who are not ISA members but have demonstrated a continued interest in and outstanding service to the advancement of arboriculture. The ISA Awards of Distinction are among the highest honors presented by ISA and are based on nominations from members and industry professionals.

“Bob Rouse has made a significant impact through his work with the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) and beyond,” says ISA CEO and executive director Caitlyn Pollihan. “We are honored to present him with an honorary membership to recognize his profound contributions to the broader arboriculture and urban forestry profession.”

Rouse has been in the green industry for more than 40 years, including serving the TCIA and its members for nearly three decades. Currently, he is TCIA’s senior vice president, Industry Expertise, where he serves as an advisor on industry knowledge, business best practices, workforce development and standards leadership.

Rouse has helped shape many of the association’s most influential initiatives, including training and certificate programs, workforce development pathways, accreditation systems and business resources that have strengthened professionalism, safety and operational excellence throughout the tree care industry.

A longtime secretary for the ANSI A300 standards, Rouse is widely recognized for his contributions to standards development and for his steady, strategic leadership in advancing the arboriculture profession. Earlier in his career, Rouse was involved with arboricultural consulting, university teaching, environmental education and operating his own tree and landscape business.
