In light of Matt Anacker’s recent passing, the Maryland Arborist Association (MAA) has chosen to reschedule its 46th Maryland Arborist Day event to April 12. With this new date, the MAA is hoping even more members can join them in honoring Matt’s legacy and celebrating his lasting impact.
Matt Anacker, president of A&A Tree Experts Inc. in Pikesville, Maryland, was the organizer of the Maryland Arborist Day event. He died March 14, 2025
The Maryland Arborist Association is proud of its history in giving back to the Maryland community, said a statement from the MAA. Through our annual Arborist Day event, previously coordinated by Matt Anacker, members of the MAA have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of labor hours to volunteer for arboriculture service projects across the state. This event is centered around volunteer work for a local Maryland community that could use the Association’s help.
This year’s event will be held at Broad Creek Memorial Scout Reservation in Whiteford, Maryland. Each year more than 20,000 youth visit the over 1,600 acre facility to participate in activities featuring youth development, adventure program, and team building in the backdrop of the outdoors.
Morning refreshments and lunch will be provided to all volunteers. This event has been approved for 3 MD LTE credits. All participants must bring their own climbing and personal protective equipment. All gear/equipment must be up to MOSH, ANSI ZI33, and TCIA standards. |
