Evolving to Serve the Tree Care Industry

TCIA’s Jon Gerstenberger.
For decades, TCI Magazine has been a trusted resource for tree care professionals – a place to find practical guidance, share ideas and stay connected to an industry that continues to grow and evolve. That role remains unchanged. What is changing is how we deliver it.
Print schedule
Beginning with the June/July 2026 issue, TCI Magazine will move from a monthly print schedule to seven print issues per year. This is a thoughtful, strategic shift designed to better align with how our readers consume information today and how the tree care industry itself is advancing.
Print remains a vital part of TCI Magazine and of TCIA’s identity. The seven annual issues will be highly focused editions, centered on the core topics that define our industry, including safety, training, plant health care, business strategy and workforce development. With more time and intention behind each issue, we believe the print magazine will become even more valuable – a resource worth keeping, revisiting and sharing.
Digital growth
Arborists, business owners and industry leaders are increasingly looking for information that is timely, accessible and available when they need it – whether that’s on a job site, between appointments or after hours. By refining our print schedule, we’re creating the capacity to deliver more responsive, up-to-date content through an expanded digital presence.
This evolution allows us to grow our digital offerings in meaningful ways. You’ll see more web-exclusive articles, faster coverage of emerging topics and a greater emphasis on multimedia storytelling. Our goal is to ensure that important information reaches you when it matters most, not just when the next issue arrives
Partnerships
This shift also opens the door to new ideas and new voices. Partnerships will play an increasingly important role in how we serve the industry. Earlier this year, we announced a collaboration with TreeBuzz, a respected platform known for its engaged community and candid, experience-driven conversations. By continuing to develop similar relationships, we can bring more perspectives into the fold and create content that reflects the real-world challenges and innovations shaping tree care today.
Our commitment
At its core, this change is about staying aligned with the needs of the professionals we serve. As TCIA president and CEO David White puts it, “The tree care industry is evolving rapidly, and our responsibility is to ensure that our members have access to the knowledge, tools and conversations that will help them succeed – not just today, but in the years ahead. This shift allows us to better support that work.”
TCI Magazine remains committed to advancing safety, professionalism and business success across the tree care industry. This next chapter is not about doing less – it’s about doing more, in ways that are more timely, more relevant and more impactful.
