Wildland firefighter injured in struck-by

A wildland firefighter supervisor was injured in a struck-by November 17, 2025, in Tillamook, Oregon. Dana Turner was working with her crew to remove a 70-foot noble fir, which was being cut for use as a Christmas tree, when it struck her leg. The takedown was set up with pulleys and an excavator, but the tree twisted and landed on Turner, according to a Daily Dispatch report.
