A tree worker suffered a medical emergency while trimming a palm, leaving him unconscious and stranded approximately 75 feet above the ground on April 24, 2026, in San Jose, California. Firefighters responded and, unable to reach him by conventional means, called in a Cal Fire helicopter to assist. The helicopter crew lifted the worker from the tree and lowered him safely to the ground. He was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
