Isuzu Class 6 FVR Derate chassis with a Voth aluminum chipper body
Isuzu’s new Class 6 FVR Derate chassis is billed as a great fit for tree care businesses. It has the underpinnings of a 33,000-pound GVWR, Class 7 truck, but has been “derated” to Class 6 (25,950-pound GVWR) so driving it doesn’t require a CDL. A Cummins B6.7L diesel engine powers the Isuzu FVR Derate, allowing the hauling of heavy loads with ease. Isuzu’s low-cab-forward design is intended to provide superb visibility and maneuverability, making it easier to drive. The Class 6 FVR Derate chassis has been upfitted with an all-aluminum Voth chipper body that is 40% lighter than conventional steel bodies and won’t rust. This combination provides more than 12,000 pounds of payload. Voth’s unibody design, smooth finish and standard features, such as pruner compartments, removable tailgate, powerpack-driven hoist and integrated storage-box options, add to its thoughtful build.
