Kong USA’s new RISE carabiner features an innovative gate sleeve, patented by Kong, that’s designed to provide the convenience of a twist-lock (two-movement) carabiner while significantly reducing the risk of an accidental opening. Its operation is designed to be as simple as it is effective. Intentionally opening the carabiner requires just two movements – in the “RIght SEquence.” Twist the sleeve, then push the gate – simple! But pressure on the gate before twisting the sleeve prevents the gate sleeve from rotating, keeping the carabiner locked. This is designed to protect the carabiner from accidental openings caused by the gate-sleeve pressing against loaded rope or other objects. Now available on the Ovalone and X-Large steel carabiners – both with the new “Lunar White” zinc-nickel finish – this high-quality carabiner was developed by Kong and is manufactured in Kong’s factory in Monte Marenzo, Italy.
