Leighton Brown, a 56-year-old tree worker, was killed by a falling tree in eastern New York while working for the New York City Housing Authority during a nor’easter on Sept. 27, 2026.  After being struck, Brown was transported to a nearby? hospital in critical condition. He suffered trauma throughout his body and was later pronounced dead.
