TCIA celebrated its 85th anniversary in 2023 with a special exhibit at TCI EXPO ’23 in St. Louis, Missouri, looking back over the decades with an anniversary wall display.
The 8-foot-tall, 16-foot-wide display included a combination of historical photographs accompanied by descriptive narratives chronicling highlights and milestones reached decade by decade since the Association’s creation in 1938 in St. Louis.
The significance of the St. Louis TCI EXPO location was captured in the display, as the initial agreement that created the National Arborist Association, now TCIA, was signed during the Shade Tree Conference in a downtown St. Louis hotel in 1938.
While this exhibit was not intended to rival the entire museum created for TCI EXPO 2013 in Charlotte, North Carolina, which celebrated the Association’s 75th anniversary, it did acknowledge the investment made in the Association by its members throughout the years.
Here are some of the memories exhibited on the panels. We hope you enjoy the trip down memory lane.
This representation was created for this issue of TCI Magazine prior to TCI EXPO ’23.
