TREE Fund Spring 2024 Grant and Scholarship Application Cycle Is Open

Tree Research and Education Endowment Fund’s (TREE Fund) spring 2024 grant and scholarship application cycle is now open – January 15 to March 15. Three grants – two research and one education – and six scholarships are accepting applications.

The two research grants, the Utility Arborists Research Fund Grant Program and the Barborinas Family Fund Grant Program, require letters of intent to be submitted by researchers by March 1, with applications due by March 15.

The Utility Arborists Research Grant Program focuses on research that is beneficial to utility tree care professionals. The Barborinas Family Fund Grant Program focuses on research within the processes of the nursery industry. Information on these grants can be found at treefund.org/researchgrants.

The Ohio Chapter ISA Education Grant Program is an education grant focusing on arboricultural education programs or projects within the state of Ohio. Applications for this grant must be submitted by March 15. Information on this grant can be found at treefund.org/educationgrants.

TREE Fund has six scholarships available for undergraduate students or high school seniors who are interested in pursuing studies and careers in arboriculture. The six scholarships – Bonnie Appleton Memorial Scholarship, Robert Felix Memorial Scholarship, Larry R. Hall Memorial Scholarship, Will Nutter Memorial Scholarship, Fran Ward Women in Arboriculture Scholarship and John Wright Memorial Scholarship – each offer a $5,000 scholarship. TREE Fund is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support scientific discovery and dissemination of new knowledge in the fields of arboriculture and urban forestry. The Fund promotes scientific inquiry designed to benefit commercial, residential, utility and consulting arborists, urban foresters and other professionals in related fields in their shared work to create, support and sustain vibrant urban canopies.
