Katie Capatosto received the inaugural Gene Bridges Memorial 5K Scholarship. The award was presented to her at TCI EXPO ’23 in St. Louis Missouri, in November 2023, by Bridges’ wife, Carolyn Bridges and his daughter, Kristin Summer.
Also in attendance were Gerry Breton of Luca Tree Experts, Craig Davis, Dawn Cook and Bethany Lenahan with Bandit Industries Ltd., Kevin Edward with Morbark and Joanne Cucciarre with Northern Atlantic Financial.
Capatosto attends Cuyahoga Community College, and attended Student Career Day at TCI EXPO ’23, where she was the first-place student winner in the skills competition.
Gene Bridges passed away January 1 at the age of 62. National sales manager with Bandit Industries for the last 14 years of his 40-year career in tree care, Gene was a tremendous supporter of the tree care industry, touching many facets of the industry.
