TCIA Welcomes New Board Member Eric Petersen

The Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) is pleased to announce the election of Eric Petersen to its board of directors. Eric is president of ArborRisk, an independent insurance agency specializing in tree care businesses in New Berlin, Wisconsin, and a 10-year TCIA corporate member company.

“I am honored to join the board to support the entire industry. My aim has always been to help professionalize tree care companies and I’m excited to extend my support on a national scale and serve the industry on a broader level,” says Eric.

Eric holds a degree in forestry from the University of Wisconsin Steven’s Point and worked for the Milwaukee County Park System as an arborist after graduation. He was laid off due to budget cuts ultimately leading him to his family insurance agency. At ArborRisk, Eric combines his background in forestry with his insurance expertise to help tree care companies get every employee home safe each night and build a profitable business.

“We are thrilled to welcome Eric to the TCIA Board of Directors,” states David White, TCIA’s president & CEO. “His industry acumen will provide invaluable insight as we continue to cultivate the growth and expansion of the tree care industry.”

ArborRisk collaborates with 300 companies across 38 states. Eric aims to leverage his expertise and diverse experience to assist the TCIA Board in advancing tree care companies, professionalizing the industry and infusing a risk-management perspective into board discussions.

Eric also serves on the TCIA Winter Management Speaker Selection task force, and has held various leadership roles within the Wisconsin Arborist Association, including president, publicity chair and Safety Committee chair. He was recently honored with a WAA Honorary Life Membership, the association’s highest accolade.
